The Ultimate Recycling Event! From one neighbor’s hands to another’s.
Circulation Day is an annual community event where you can donate good, clean, usable items that you no longer need, to share with others who do need them. We are connecting with over a dozen agencies and non profits in Clackamas County, including women’s shelters, foster parents, head start programs, veterans and more.
Everything is free, and everyone is welcome to shop!
In preparation for the event, donors from the community have the opportunity to clean out their garage, basement, and attic in search of good, clean, usable items to share with others who can truly use them. Donations can range from: furniture, household items, clothes, books, toys, and sporting equipment.
“It’s kind of an early fall harvest,” said Executive Director Victoria Etchemendy, “a recirculation of our bounty. As we remove from our homes what no longer serves us, but will bless others, we practice what we call the Law of Circulation. Every year is different. It’s like a treasure hunt. People just don’t believe it’s free, so as they find things they need and can use they get excited.”
Donations can be dropped off at The Gathering Place Monday, October 10th through Friday, October 14th.
Volunteers are needed to help with sorting on Thursday, October 13th and Friday, October 14th and running the giveaway day on Saturday, October 15th from 8 am to 2 pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Victoria Etchemendy at (503) 427-2192.
